Why become a member of Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities (CCAH)? CCAH brings you free Summer of Music Concerts like New Riders of the Purple Sage, Panjea and Danelia Cotton and Aphrodesia. CCAH brings you the Annual Carbondale Mountain Fair. CCAH brought First Fridays to Carbondale and continues to host monthly gallery openings featuring artwork from local artists. CCAH hosts the music and food for the Annual 4th of July "Boogie in Bonedale". CCAH brings curriculum-based and after-school arts programs to the public schools. CCAH provides scholarships to local high school students. CCAH launched a humanities series in 2008 titled "Spirituality in Contemporary Life." Why we need you..... CCAH is a non-profit organization that reiies soley on memberships and donations from people like you. We need your contribution in order to continue bringing these exciting programs to Carbondale. September is membership month at CCAH and our goal is to raise $10,000. Please help us reach our goal, by renewing your membership. Every membership counts. Thank you for supporting the cultural life of Carbondale.
GREEN IS the new Black
Calling all designers and artists. Stretch yourselves to create wearable art or wearable fashion for the first annual CCAH/KDNK Fashion Show on March 14, 2009 at the Carbondale Recreation Center. The theme is "Green Is the New Black" and will feature clothes made from recycled materials, locally sourced materials or made in Colorado. Submissions must be made by January 10, 2009 and should include: a sketch, materials used and a short description of your designs. Light Up Carbondale
Friday, December 5th, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at 4th and Main Light Up Carbondale is a heartwarming event only found in a small town, where friends and neighbors of all backgrounds and ages gather to celebrate the holiday season. Children and adults alike unite to sing carols, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, visit with Santa Claus, and watch the trees of downtown Carbondale light up. Light Up Carbondale is in its fourth year and has become a local tradition. Light up Carbondale works to foster community spirit and unite different ethnic cultures while energizing the local commerce and community spirit. Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities collaborates with the Town of Carbondale and the public schools to bring this event to the community.
